Hardy Pond is fishing as good as it gets right now for crappie. The fish are stacked in the flooded timber in 6–10 ft and they are eating. Every trip this week has been a limit before noon for our staff.

Best presentation is a 1/16 oz jig under a slip bobber set to fish 5–7 ft below the surface. Pitch it into the heart of the timber, give it a twitch, let it sit. The strike is usually a clean lift on the bobber, not a slam.

Fish are running 9–12 inches with a handful of 13+ inch slabs. The bite has been consistent from 7am to early afternoon. Once the sun gets high they slide a little deeper into the cover — switch to a longer pole and dap straight down.

Tackle gets eaten by the wood. Bring two or three times what you think you will need.
