Pine is fishing exactly like a textbook stained-water spring lake should. Bass are in the shallows and the topwater bite is wide open during the low-light windows.
Frog over the matted lily pad edges first thing. Walk it slowly along the outside edge. Most strikes come within 6 feet of the cover. Buzzbait works just as well on the laydown banks — keep it moving steady, no pauses.
Once the sun gets high and the wind comes up, transition to a jig and pitch the wood. The bite slows but does not stop. Fish are not on beds in most of the lake — water still a degree or two short.
Solid 14–17 inch fish are the norm with several 3–4 lb class fish each trip. Good lake for a half day after work.
