Pine crappie are right at the front edge of the spawn. Fish are not on the beds yet but they are stacked in 4–7 feet of water tight to laydowns and dock pilings.
Best presentation is a 1/32 oz jig with a tiny tube or paddletail. Dock shooting is the deal — skip the jig under the dock and let it pendulum down. Watch your line for any movement.
Fish are running 9–11 inches with a handful of bigger ones to 13 inches. Trip limit is achievable in 2–3 hours by anyone willing to slow down and pick apart cover.
This bite will improve over the next 7–10 days then taper as the fish move shallow to spawn. Get on it.
